“If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it.” – Ruthie Lindsey

The most beautiful thing about kindness is its impact. Kindness heals. For all spiritual wounds embroidered so painfully in one’s heart, there is a longing for a sense of comfort to help put that ache to ease. And sometimes, all that really is are kind words; words to reassure whoever it may be of their worth and light that they felt they had lost.
Small gestures like giving a compliment, some words of encouragement, a hug, or even a warm smile goes a long way towards not just making someone’s day, but making them feel better about themselves as well. “You are doing great today” or “All your hard work will pay off” could be that push for those who feel overwhelmed, and “I believe in you” or “I see how hard you’re trying” could motivate those who feel defeated to keep going. Also bear in mind that signs of heartache or dismay isn’t always in plain sight. Sadness is often covered by a strong front, and most of the time, it is the quiet ones who are in dire need of words and acts of affection. Just being an overall kind-hearted person could affect people’s lives in a powerful way because your kindness alone validates that there is good in the world for them and that they are deserving of happiness. Knowing that your mere act of kindness is essentially helping people feel better is so gratifying, and the best part of it is that it is so easy. It takes less efforts to be a nice person than a mean one, so why waste precious time and energy being hateful?
Another beautiful thing about kindness is that it could be used anytime of any day. You don’t need to wait for a reason to be kind. Just be kind. Be kind because you just want to be a nice person, or because you like making people smile, or because you want to spread love – just…be. Do more acts of love “just because”. Tell your mother she looks beautiful today. Tell your best friend you’re lucky to have him or her in your life. Tell yourself that you are a strong individual despite all the hardships you’ve been through, because self-care is just as important. With all things, do with kindness! Take advantage of the time you have here on Earth treating others the way you want to be treated, because life is far too short to live in the dark realms of hate and isolation.
Radiate love, and love will radiate back to you.
